Acids and bases Again
« on: May 28, 2007, 09:36:30 PM »
I just recently tried conjugate acids and bases but to no avail. I realize that i must add a Hydrogen to make a conjugate acid and take a hydrogen away for a conjugate base. But i am not sure how to do that. Could some one hopefully show me how to do this?

here are some examples

1.) Give the Conjugate acid of:
HSO4

2.) Give Conjugate base of
HCO3

It's really simpler than you probably think it is.

The conjugate acid of HSO4- is H2SO4

The conjugate base of HCO3- is CO32-.
