caffeine extraction equations?

Hey guys have a couple quick questions.

Can anyone help me with these 2 questions? i've tried and came up with 2 equations for the first question. i wanted to make sure they were right though. i need help in writing the second one definitely though and to see if the first one is right.


For the first one, i need to show equations showing how caffeine could be extracted from an organic solvent and subsequently isolated.

The second one I need equations showing how acetaminophen might be extracted from an organic solvent such as an ether, if it were soluble.

Here's something to start with.  What are the chemical structures of caffeine and acetaminophen?  Looking at the structures, do you see any way to increase their solubility in water (hint: think acid/base chemistry).

I see acetominophen is a phenol. Maybe using cold, dilute aq. NaOH would work since caffeine is only slightly soluble in water and amides require more extreme conditions break.
