pH and air

Hello everyone, I am new here, but I am stuck on a question that I'm not entirely certain about, preferably the technicality. I've searched and searched and cannot come to a concise and succinct answer in chemical terms, therefore, why does the pH of pure water decrease on exposure to air?

Carbonic Acid

Just search google or your favorite internet search engine and you will get all the information you want. The very first results, at google, for "carbonic acid" is a very good one, and surprise it is wiki! You just have to know what to search for.
