Predicting major product

Hello!

I am not sure how to reduce the product by using LiAlH4 in the second sequence. This is what I think we would get after steps 1, 2, and 3 of the first sequence. I have shown my work as a attachment in the following message...

these are the choices for the final product: 
A) PhCOOH
 
B)  PhCH2COOH
 
C)  PhCHO
 
D)  PhCH2OH

benzoic acid is the first product formed.

carboxilic acids are reduced to alcohols by a strong hydride such as LAH. a weaker agent (NaBH4 for instance) wont reduce them.

LiAlH4 reduce ester and carboxylic acide
NaBH4 usually use reducing for ketones or aldehits
