how do you find the normality of .250 M HCL?

Thanks for responding, but I don't understand how to find equivalents (or even really know what they are). I have to solve for 0.105M of H(sub 2)SO(sub 4) and a bunch of other of this type of equation, I think I read on one of your links that the normality of HCL is always 1N, so thanks for that! :) But could you tell me how to find equivalents?

For HCl an equivalent and  a mole are the same

equivalents are the release of protons (H+) (when talking about acids)

thus: HCl in water will completely dissociate: HCl --> H+ + Cl- --> 1 H+ in solution thus 1 equivalent.

H2SO4 may dissociate to SO42- releasing 2 protons and thus 2 equivalents in solution.

Then normality = molarity * equivalents
