I am trying to determine a titration curve of a strong acid/weak base. My acid(titrant) will be either 0.1M or 0.5M HCl against 50% Hydroxylamine(NH2OH), and I want to find out how much titrant I will need. Can anyone help me with the calculations?? PLEASE *delete me*!!!
1. Write a balanced equation of the reaction.
2. You need to have a known volume of the base.
3. Also record the concentration of the base.
4. Find the number of moles of the base using: number of moles (mol) = concentration (mol dm-3) x volume (dm3)
5. Use the answer to 4 and the equation of the reaction to calculate the number of moles of HCl needed.
6. Use n = cV to find the volume of HCl needed.
