dear freinds,
i am in production of benzotrichloride. At present by the method of chlorination of toluene in presence of ultraviolet bulbs i am able to get benzotrichloride in 30 hrs reaction time, which is very slow
. I would like you to suggest me the name of a few catalysts which could speed up my reation time considerably
.
thanks

Try to add catalytic amount of PCl3 and 2,2'-Azobisisobutyronitrile(AIBN) into the reaction system will be better.
And also the UV light maybe absorbed by normal glass reactor .It is better to use a flask which made by quartz glass.
