simple chemistry question...mass number of elements
« on: September 05, 2007, 06:32:46 PM »
Hi , this is a simple question , i'm not english so i hope you can understand well

the question is this:

Is possible to have an element with ALL atoms differents? (for the   mass number, for example)

i know that atoms of the same element cannot be defined "same" ,but it is correct to call them "of the same species" , because they can have different number of  mass

thank you all :)

Are you talking about a molecule that has different isotopes of the same element? For example an element with hydrogen and deutrium?

if you put more than one type of atoms than that is called compound. so  in my view, its not possible to name something with different atoms as elements.
