Does anyone know the history behind those laws or precipitation reactions? or why they are helpful in everyday circumstances? I need to know for a lab report and i have been searching for hours but i just can't seem to find either!

why is it helpful to know it?

1. if you have a mixture and you want to isolate one of the elements in the mixture, it would be nice to know the solubility rules.

2. knowing a suitable solvent for any reaction requires knowing the rules too
