single replacement reaction
« on: September 27, 2007, 10:03:23 AM »
I need to do a single replacement reaction on the following:
Na(s) + Mn(NO3)2(aq)

Here's what I thought:  The Na is a metal and will displace another metal and the balanced reaction ends up like this:

2Na(s) + Mn(NO3)2)(aq) --> Mn(s) + 2NaNO3(aq)

Am I doing that correctly?

Google reactivity series. Remember that there is water present in the solution.
