My teacher said there is a specific name for the "Periodic Staircase" found in the Periodic Table of Elements that separates the Metalloids/semimetals. Does anyone know the name of this "staircase?" Thanks. :)

Don't lanthanides and actinides refer to the name of the elements next to the stair case though? I think my teacher is referring to the actual line.
