counting atoms
« on: October 19, 2007, 07:44:31 PM »
If I had 5 moles of C3H8

How many atoms would i have?

How would I solve this?..My attempt is 5X3= 15 C and 5X8= 40 H
Totaling 15+40 = 55 atoms
Is this correct by any chance?

If you have 5 dozens of C3H8 - how many atoms would you have?

660?
Correct!  Now we just have to tackle your problem  ;)

Using the method you used in answering Borek's question, answer your own keeping in mind that a 'mole' is 6.022*1023 the same way that a dozen is 12.

ok that makes sense....so my answer would be 3.31x1025 atoms total? It sounds weird...

Correct.

Only compared to your initial answer  ;)
