Which of the following statements about SN1 reactions is true?

 a. Substitution at a C atom that is a stereogenic center will lead to racemization.

 b. This reaction competes with the E1 reaction.

 c. Its rate is independent of the concentration of the nucleophile.

 d. All of the above

 e. A and B

I read the post about SN1 or SN2 and as usual conflicting info..but from what I gather I think my answer is

E   ;D ...Did I get perfect  ;D

well I know its A for sure cause from the post SN1 or SN2 if it has a stereogenic centre it can be attacked from either top or bottom which gives a R or S

The answer is d.  The rate limiting step in an SN1 reaction is dissociation of the leaving group, a step that is not dependent on the concentration of nucleophile.
