Distillation of Red wine

Why is it not possible to obtain > 95.6 % ethanol in the distillate (i.e. when the starting sample is < 95 % ethanol)?

I think this is common sense, if you start with <95 % ethanol you cant end up with more. Ethanol boils at around 78 degrees, hence is less volatile than water, hence the first fraction would be ethanol...but then again I am an wondering whats the scientific explanation..

Any help would be appreciated
