Crystallization Experiment
« on: February 06, 2005, 10:10:11 PM »
Hi,

For our lab experiment it asked out how to calculate the total percentage of pure Benzoic acid obtained at the end of experiment.

Our substance contained: 15g Benzoic acid, 15g Charcoal, and 15g sand.

Our intial amount for the experiment was .508g and our final sample was .155g.

I don't understand how to get the answer. Could someone please point me in the right direction.

Thank you,  :)

It is starting from 0.333x0.508 and ends with 0.155 ( 0.333 = 15/(15+15+15) )
