online organic molecules??
« on: November 23, 2007, 08:48:24 PM »
Does anyone know of a site where you can draw organic molecules online?

I am typing up my lab and would like to include organic structures preferably drawn by computer rather than having to draw them by hand.  Is there such a site?  I know there are softwares you can purchase, but wondering if anyone knows of a 'free' way to do this

Thanks

Dear CuriousGeorge1234;

There you can find a “small” Collection of such Tools:

I checked only “VRML” on:  “Frederick/Bethesda Data and Online Services

I hope there are a “few” to help you.

Good Luck!

Obviously depends what computer OS you're running, but there are things like ISIS Draw (http://www.mdli.co.uk) for Windows, Chemtool (http://ruby.chemie.uni-freiburg.de/~martin/chemtool/) or XDrawChem (http://xdrawchem.sourceforge.net/) for Linux...

Not having really used one I'm not sure. Depends a bit on the OS you're using as I think you may be able to compile / use some of the Linux software on later OSs
