Selectivity of Diimide reduction
« on: January 01, 2008, 08:53:36 PM »
I hope to know if the diimide reduction of alkynes could stop at Z-olefin stage selectively without having over-reduction to alkanes. If it does, what is the relative reactivity between di-substituted alkynes and Z-olefins under diimide reduction conditions? (I can seldom find literature examples about the chemoselective reduction of alkynes to alkens using the said method)

Thank guys!
