I've read at a paper that its a common reagent used in organic reactions but I've never seen an example other than:

Tetrahedron Letters, Vol. 28, No. 33,pp 3817-3818-3819

Other than the reference already cited, don't forget that it's a mixture of Me3SiCl, NaI and CH3N, not one big molecule ;)
