Rate Law Questions
« on: February 07, 2008, 10:47:47 PM »
Hi, I am struggling on a chem question:

The rate law reaction 2NO2(g) ----> 2NO(g) + O2(g) is
Rate = k[NO2]2

By what factor does the rate change if the concentration of NO2 goes from 0.19M to 0.44M?

I don't know how to solve because k nor delta t is given.... @_@

thanks!

You have to find the factor by which the rate changes, i.e: R2/R1.

R= k[NO2]2 - you know [NO2], k cancels.

Not quite.

R1= 0.192k, R2= 0.442k

So R2/R1 = ?
