Schrodinger equation

The problem is to solve the schrodinger equation for a 1-D particle in a box

is the answer
 A sin ( (n pi x)/a) where n=1,2,3,4,.       ?

In p-chem it's much more important to know how you got the answer than what the answer actually is (but yes, the equation is correct if "a" represents the size of the box).
