Reaction?
« on: March 07, 2008, 08:24:08 PM »
*delete me*!

i have a question not sure how to find the answer:

NH4CL(AQ) + AgCLO3 (AQ)  -----> NH4CLO3(AQ) + AgCL (s)

the question is:

the two reactants are clear solutions in water. what would you see when they are mixed together and the chemical reaction takes place?

Dear Marebare;

Do you know what is the meaning of (s)  by AgCl(s)?

Good Luck!

Dear Marebare;

Exact!

So what will you see in a clear Solution if there is from one moment to the other some Solid(s) init?

Good Luck!

Dear Marebare;

What do you see if you see a “Fish” in clear Water?  -  You see a Fish!
(So you will see that the Solution will turn to opalescence, - becoming like Milk.)

Good Luck!

NH4CL(AQ) + AgCLO3 (AQ)  -----> NH4CLO3(AQ) + AgCL (s)

Cl not CL, (aq) not (AQ).

AgClO3(aq) + NH4Cl(aq) -> NH4ClO3(aq) + AgCl(s)
