Derivates of a compound

Hi,
I don't really understand this question. The question states:
What derivative would you prepare to distinguish between isobutyl alcohol and 3-pentanol?
My answer: 3,5-Dintrobenzoate and p-Nitrobenzoate
Is my answer correct?
Thank You

One of those would probably work since nitro and dinitrobenzoates tend to form nice solids. Then you might be able to tell the difference by melting point, although I don't know the MP difference for those two esters.
