I know your supposed to use the specific heat capacity of water for HCl...but my question is
WHY?

Dear FandM;

That’s only in one special Situation true!,  —  If you are Very, very diluted!
For all other Concentrations you may compare it with:  "Specific Heat Capacity of HCl
