I'm wondering if the aqueous solution of bromine can oxidize oxalic acid, at first, I think it can be because the inductive effect of 2 carboxyl groups, however, I think of HCOOH, its ability with bromine is because there is -CHO group in its molecule and there are no aldehyde groups in the molecule of oxalic acid. Further more, bromine is a weak oxidized-agent, can't be compared with permanganate kali in acidic solution.
I hope you can help me to solve this problem. Any help would be highly appreciated.

I don't know, may be it is oxidized by Br2 to produce CO2 and HBr. Of course, I don't know whether it happens, and the main purpose when I asked was whether oxalic acid react with Br2 in water

Yeah, so you mean, oxalic acid doesn't react with bromine directly but with the product HOBr - the strong oxidized agent.
