Organic Synthesis
« on: April 01, 2005, 11:52:37 AM »
I am working a synthesis problem and I have to make  2 six member rings connected by 2 carbons.  I have made  a cyclohex-2-ene-one but need to connect another 6 membered ring (4 more carbons) to carbons number 3 and 4.  Any suggestions on reagents or reactions to point me in the right direction?

What do the bonds look like? any doubles? if so...you might try a Diels Alder addition
