Flashpoint Query - help please ...
«

Hi All,
The flash point of chloropyridine is generally quoted as 147 deg Fahrenheit (64 deg Celsius). Can anyone advise me what would the flashpoint of a 5% solution (5% chloropyridine; 95% water) be ? I need this info to assess hazardous area zoning of an industrial distillation process where a 5% solution is distilled.
Thanks in advance...

I do not think this can be calculated you'll need to measure it. However, unless chloropyridine forms an azetrope with water, the vapours will have a flashpoint of 64°C. So use 64°C for the hazardous area calculations.
