What are the hazards of CH3CH2CO2H?
« on: July 01, 2008, 08:27:37 PM »
Unfortunatly CH3CH2CO2H is not listed in wikipedia and when I used chemfinder.com to look up CH3CH2CO2H, I keep getting a register for cambridge soft membership message. I need to put CH3CH2CO2H in the table of reagents for the upcoming lab. My professor won't tell me the hazards of CH3CH2CO2H because it is my responsibility as a student to look that up. I did everything I could to try and find the hazards of CH3CH2CO2H. Unfortunatly I found nothing.

Use your organic experience to name the compound, and then search that name at google followed by MSDS, or the wikipedia page is the first result at google with the name.

Just got to practice your naming and it is pretty easy.

I'm not in organic chemistry so I don't have any organic experience. I also mentioned that there is no wikipedia page.

Yes there is one. An you need only very basic skills in naming organic compounds to locate it.

When I typed in CH3CH2CO2H in wikipedia no article was found. I did  find the propanoic acid you mentioned, thanks.
