Salvinorin A is the main active psychotropic molecule in Salvia divinorum, a Mexican plant which has a long history of use as an entheogen by indigenous Mazatec shamans. Salvinorin A is a hallucinogenic compound with dissociative effects.

why exactly? because if you think its illegal , which it might be where you live but where i live ( the uk ) its not banned at all

It's fine and dandy that it may not be illegal where you live, but it is illegal in some places, which makes it a off-limits topic here (that's the rules, also it prevents the owner's of the site from getting into trouble). However, most places where it isn't illegal you can buy it (I know you can in Minnesota at least). If you are still interested in the chemistry, then in the wikipedia article they provide to references where synthesis have been performed.
