Need some help with some various chemistry problems....
« on: August 07, 2008, 11:29:59 AM »
I need some help with these 4 chemistry problems

1.   Calculate the % yield if 4 moles of ethylene are reacted with excess water to produce 3.8 moles of ethanol
CH2CH2 + H2O → CH3CH2OH

2.   5 moles of N2 are reacted with 10 moles of H2 to produce ammonia. What is the maximum amount of ammonia that can be produced?
N2 + 3H2 → 2 NH3

3.   If 10g of NO react with 20g of O2, what is the maximum amount of NO2 that can be produced?

4.   Thermal decomposition of potassium chlorate produces oxygen and potassium chloride. Calculate the % yield if 35 g of oxygen are collected after heating 100g of KClO3.
2KClO3 → 2KCl + 3O2

You need to review Limiting Reagents and Percent Yield

Reviewing forum rules won't hurt as well.
