Water based compound question
« on: August 13, 2008, 12:25:43 PM »
We are currently making a water based drag resistant additive for oil pipelines and the primary compounds we are having trouble with is the water and polymers keep separating apart from each other. anyone have an idea as to anything I can add to the compound to keep the water and polymers to stick together?

Why wouldn't you make nonpolar additive?

Hello djphilter,

I have alot of experience in this field.

Unfortunately, you need to add a surfactant .. which one... who knows..it depends on the area that you are trying to make it work...

The only true way is to test it ... sorry... there are no shortcuts with this one...

Sincerely,

Eugene

we were using a canola oil based product before but with the recent uprising in cost for it we are trying to cut back to a inexpensive one, thus the water.
