propyl acetate preparation

Proply acetate was made via microscale preparation by:
1. 1g 1-propanol, 2 mL acetic acid& 1 drop conc. sulfuric acid- allowedrefluxed and stirred * 45 minutes
2.  cooled to room temp- 5 mL dichloromethane added and then extracted twice with 10% sodium bicarb, then once with 5 mL water
3.  mixtured dried over anhydrous CaCl2, then decanted
4.  rotary evaporator tyo remove dichloromethane
5. microdistilled

Question:  How is the excess acetic acid removed from the reaction mixture?

(Is it when you wash the solution with sodium bicarb??)
