Combustion product

Hi there,

I'm doing studies on outboard engine combustion product in water. The outboard engine produced Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Nitrogen Monoxide (NO) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and react with water. I cannot seem to figure out the chemical equation.

CO2 + NO + NO2 + H2O = H2CO3 + HNO3      ( not sure correct or not )

NO and NO2 combine to N2O3 which is an anhydride of HNO2, not HNO3

Hi there,

Thank You for your last reply.But I thought when Nitrogen Monoxide and Nitrogen Dioxide ( both of them also called Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) ) react with water will produce nitric acid (HNO3). So, when Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen Monoxide and Nitrogen Dioxide react with water will produce carbonic acid and nitric acid.
