Which reactant will be left over?
« on: September 17, 2008, 09:08:15 PM »
(I would grately appreciate if someone could help me with this.)

Silicon carbide, an abrasive, is made by the reaction of silicon dioxide with graphite :

SiO2 + C --> SiC + CO

If 75.5 grams of SiO2 and 119.6 grams of C are reacted as far as possible, which reactant will be left over?
