determining solutions: acidic, basic or neutral?

NH4NO2 + H20= HNO3+ NH4OH, is that correct? Strong acid weak base gives you an acidic solution...i appreciate it!

hey,

there are two ions in ammonium nitrite and both can undergo hydrolysis separately. I guess the final pH of solution depends on the relative extent of Ka and Kb of the hydrolysis.

NH4NO2 + H20= HNO3+ NH4OH

HNO3 or HNO2? That's huge difference.

I have no idea, you know the question, I haven't seen it. Please type the question exactly as it was asked.

NH4NO2 + H2O= HNO2 + NH4OH correct? THis gives a strong acid weak base for the products right? Which means the solution is acidic. If it is not please tell me.
