A student measures the EMF of the following electrochemical cell at 24oC in a solution that is 0.15 molL-1 in Fe2+ against a Saturated Calomel Electrode as the reference. The reduction potential of the Saturated Calomel Electrode is +0.244 V.

Fe2+ + 2e- -> Fe

The measured value is 0.678 V with the iron as the anode. What is the standard reduction electrode potential (in V) for iron calculated from this measurement? Provide your answer to two decimal places and do not give units.

For my answer I got: -0.44 V, is this correct or could anybody please help me out?

Can you explain how you arrived at that value?
