Universal Gas constant....

Why for the universal gas constant is Joules used as the unit for pV and not Pascals and Meters3???

Good question, one that you should be able to solve by yourself.

What is J?

Hint: Pa is N/m2.

i see now, because Pa are Nm-2 when multiplied by the m3 for the volume you are left with a Newton Meter which is the equivelant of one Joule!
