Hello,
For this problem, I am not sure what formula to use which is why I am having trouble answering this question.
Experiments show that the solubility of alum in 25 mL of 1.4 KOH plus 10 mL of 9 M H2SO4 is about 1.0 g at 1.0 degree Celsius and 1.7 g at 6.0 degree Celsius. Using your measured solution temperature, estimate the amount of alum left in your chilled solution.
Temperature of cooled alum crystals: 3 degrees Celsius
Alum left in solution: ____________g
So far, all I did was find the moles of solute of KOH and moles of H2SO4 by using the formula for molarity.
Moles of solute KOH: 0.035 moles KOH
Moles of solute H2SO4: 0.09 moles H2SO4
After that, I dont know where to go.
