A level Chemistry Revision
« on: December 04, 2008, 01:24:07 PM »
okay, the scenario is: I’m about to start chemistry tutoring (in about 4 weeks)

I have a Chemistry Degree, MChem and MSc, and I was pretty good at the time.  But it’s been a while since I've done any academic work, although I do work in the chemistry/IT industry

I was wondering what the best resources and best books to quickly get up to speed again to prepare for tutoring A-level chemistry.

I remember the oxford primers were pretty good for most core-syllabus subjects, what else should I look into?

Hi, i just finished A level last month and honestly speaking they are testing beyond syllabus(something that even with textbook beside, you wouldn't know how to answer). So to say, don't confine to just the syllabus and teach more on critical thinking. To know what i am saying, best is to refer to 2008 H2 Chemistry Paper 2 question 4 on transition elements.

I think this site is pretty good to get basic concepts right. http://www.chemguide.co.uk/
No matters what results are waiting for us, it's nothing but the DESTINY!!!!!!!!!!!!
