Home made nitromethane - HELP
«

Can any body please help. I am a mechanical engineer with not to much experience in the field of chemistry.
I want to set up a small plant that can produce about 100 to 200 liters of nitromethane a month. Probably even less say 50 liters and i can just duplicate the plant as required.
I will really appreciate any direction or help that is offered.
I live in South Africa and it is very expensive and difficult to import nitromethane.
I will be producing model fuel and sell any excess nitromethane to the local racing community.
Help will be greatly appreciated

You probably want a chemical engineer, for a pilot plant setup. We have a forums here for chemical engineers, but maybe you'll get the best, practical, help from your local university.
