Hi
Some time ago I was reading a paper (S.S. Eaton & G.R. Eaton, J.Am.Chem.Soc.1973, 95(6),1825-1829) in which the authors explain that when a nonrigid molecule changes its point group (changing configuration but keeping conformation invariant, for example) it is possible to interpret it by means of permutation group (introduced by Longuet-Higgins).
Now I want to know: what about when a nonrigid molecule changes both its configuration and conformation, changing also its permutation group? Is there another type of group theoreical treatment of the problem?
Thanks for attention.
