How much heat in kJ is evolved/absorbed in each of the following reactions
a. burning 15.5g of propane:
C3H8(g) + 5O2(g) --> 3CO2(g) + 4H2O(l) :delta: H = -2219kJ
I did 0.352mol x 2219kJ / 1 for the coefficient = 781kJ evolved
b. reaction of 4.88g of barium hydroxide octahydrate with ammounium chlroide:
Ba(OH)2x8H2O(s) + 2NH4Cl(s) --> BaCl2(aq) + 2NH3(aq) + 10H2O(l) :delta: H = 80.3kJ
Not quite sure how to deal with this?
