Entropy Change of Glycol
« on: March 26, 2009, 04:58:41 PM »
Hi,

I am having trouble solving the following problem:

What is the entropy change in one mole of liquid glycol when it freezes at -25.0 oC? At the normal melting point (-15.0 oC), the heat of fusion of glycol is 2688 cal mol-1, and the specific heats of liquid and solid glycol are 33.8 and 20.1 cal K-1 mol-1 , respectively.

For my solution I arrived at 10.97 cal/K

I would just like to  know if others some to the same solution.
