The lab I used to work in had a THF still. They distilled it after drying with Sodium wire for a few days first.
Tonight I’m going to party like it’s on sale for $19.99!

THF + sodium (wires) + small quantity of benzophenone
Heat the mixture at refluxing temperature. When it becames blue you can destilled it.
Benzophenone is used as indicator. It is a radical aceptor.
When it is blue means that no water is present in the media.

I recommend you to use inert atmosphere

please be careful if you set up a THF still.  They are major explosion hazards in the lab

What kind of reaction do you need it for? You may be able to get by with a septum-capped bottle of anhydrous THF. If you can go that route, it's worth it in terms of safety.

Yeah, I'd just buy a bottle of anhydrous THF. Fisher sells them with an Acroseal.

THNX!

I had some old THF, so I had no other choice then to dry it. So I did set up a still, and it all went ok.

Your advices were great, thank you all for taking the time!

Wish me luck. :)
