whats chemistry like at a UK university?
« on: April 17, 2009, 03:09:44 PM »
I'm thinking about doing a chemistry degree. I really like chemistry but I don't know whether it's risky for me to take it. Is it really really hard? I'm worried I'm going to get myself into a degree and end up struggling on everything! I'm not struggling at all with my chemistry AS level so far. Do you do a lot of practicals? Do you get tested on practicals?

There is a fantastic site called http://www.ucas.ac.uk/  . It is the mother site of all universities in UK. People apply to University through this , so check it out. Each university differs in the way they handle a chemistry degree, but i am sure they all start at a easy level for those who struggle a bit and eventually get to the serious stuff.

1.http://www.ucas.ac.uk/
2.Click on course search
3.Click on  search
4.Click on search by subject
5.Go to 'C' and find chemistry

Hope that helps a bit.

Sal.
