Hello everybody,
Would you please help me out with a mechanism question.
The mechanism I am talking about is reducing a C-S bond to C-H using Raney-Ni as a catalyst in a hydrogen atmosphere. I know that the mechanism could be radicalic and I suspect that hydrogen is adsorbed onto the catalyst surface the same way H2 does in the case of hydrogenation of the alkenes.
I would greatly apprecaite if you could give me more details about this mechanism.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Have a great evening!
Sincerely,
Marie
