Hi.
I am currently doing the pre-lab questions to a lab i will be doing next week. The lab is about the technique of recrystallisation to separate benzoic acid from a mixture with quinine.
One of the questions of the lab is:
"Besides the normal neutral forms for benzoic acid and quinine, will there be any other chemical form(s) present in the dichloromethane solution?"
Im a little unsure as to what this is referring to. Is it referring to the possibility that the benzoic acid could deprotonate to the benzoate form?
