Hello all, I am in desperate need of some assistance, right now I am working on detecting pesticides and their metabolites (Deltamethrin, 3-Phenoxybenzoic Acid, etc...) and need some suggestions for removing lipids without removing the pyrethroids, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! all our samples are prepped in HPLC grade Methanol using a solid-phase extraction technique if that makes a difference.

Hi,

Lipids should not be soluble in methanol.  You can try putting your extract in a freezer and removing the solidified lipids.  I will attempt to attach a method for extracting pesticides from high lipid matrices.

Thank you for your reply, I used a vacuum chamber to evaporate the methanol, then re-constituted the solution with methanol and ran it through a .2 micron filter and it worked beautifully
