Organic chemistry
« on: September 12, 2009, 02:15:50 PM »
I have some question in organic chemistry

a. What is the difference between polarity of the bond and the polarity of the molecele? Can the molecule with nonpolar bond can be polar?

b. What is difference between radicals and ions? Is CH3+ the same as CH3.

c. The chememical bond is 110 pm. What is this distanece refferding to; distanance of the nucleus of the atom or something else?

d. sp-hybridization, what is it, why does it explore triple bonds in organic compounds

e. What is the differnce between sigma and fi bonds?

f. What is hybridization of nytrogen in alchohol choline?

Thanx for answers.

a. Bond between oxgen and acrbon in covalent polar, but molecule is non polar so probaly can be. Whay is the molecule polarity more imporatant(from a bond polarity), acctulay a polarity means haviang a pol, and the CO2 has one?

b. Radical have at leat one non pair electron, well what that means? Does that mean that methane lose one electron and one proton and becomes radical? Or C lose electron form 1s2 2s2 2p2  and become radical 1s2 2s2 2p6?o

c. I dont found this information on rhe intternet, i dont know, what my attempt coud be, maye, i thix it is betwen the nucleus(i thinx i gave my attempt here alredy)

d.

Speaking personally, I'm having difficulty understanding what you've written.

However, you seem to have not really answered part a). In the question you talk about non-polar bonds, and polar molecules, yet your answer seems to talk about the reverse, polar bonds and a non-polar molecule?

b) You seem to be aware of what a radical is, how does this differ to the ion?

c) distance of the nucleus of the atom to what?

d) - f) ?
