« on: September 12, 2009, 11:01:08 PM »

So far ive been able to reason that a ketone and a carboxylic acid sit on a N-Benzylethanolamine, however i b/c im missing the extra ketone and carboxylic acid at the end, I know this is incorrect.  Please help, Im working on some first semester organic homework problems.

It's an amide and a carboxylic acid that is "connected". Hence, 2-benzamidoacetic acid. It is usually called hippuric acid.
