%wt/v vs %wt/wt
« on: November 09, 2009, 09:42:00 PM »
Hi all,

I hav a question regarding the conversion of %wt/v to %wt/wt. Given that the mass of the solute is 2g, and dissolve in 25ml of solvent, the calculated %wt/v is 8%. So does that mean that 8%wt/v is equivalent to 8%wt/wt?

Thanks for the help.

Why do you think it will be 8% w/w?

i assume both are the same? or do i need to find out the density of the solvent and convert it to mass and thus calculate %wt/wt? am i on the right track?

i assume both are the same?

So you assume they are the same to come to conclusion they are the same?

This sounds much better :)
